Zakat in Shia fiqh applies to specific items: gold and silver currency, four kinds of livestock (camels, cattle, sheep, goats), and four kinds of agricultural produce (wheat, barley, dates, raisins).
The recipients are enumerated in the Qur'an itself; thresholds (nisab) and rates are detailed in the Tawdih al-Masail of each Marja.
