IRGC strikes 85 US targets in Bahrain and Kuwait

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that its naval and aerospace forces struck 85 US targets in Bahrain and Kuwait, destroying key military installations. The targets included Bahrain's Salman port, the Fifth Fleet's maritime area, and the Ali al-Salem airbase in Kuwait. Additionally, the IRGC said it shot down a US MQ-9 Reaper drone that attempted to interfere with the operation.

In a statement, the IRGC blamed the United States for violating the ceasefire and the Islamabad MoU by launching airstrikes on coastal bases and civilian stations in Hormozgan and Mahshahr in the early hours of Wednesday. The IRGC described the US action as a "habit of oath-breaking."

The IRGC further stated that Washington was "terrified" by the unprecedented mass funeral processions for Ayatollah Khamenei in Iran and Iraq, and sought to overshadow these historic events. "The unprecedented epic created by the great Iranian nation in the enemy-defeating farewell to the leader of the Islamic Ummah, and the global reflection of the massive, million-strong participation of the proud Iraqi people in the historic farewell to the martyred leader, is seen by the aggressor American regime as an even greater defeat," the statement said.

According to Mehr News Agency (MNA), the IRGC's operation was a direct response to US aggression, and the downing of the drone was part of the defensive measures taken by Iran.
