The spokesman for Yemen's armed forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, announced on Wednesday that three military operations were carried out that morning, according to the Yemeni newspaper Al-Masirah. In a statement, Saree said the first operation targeted a radar facility on the Al-Qahmah Peninsula in the north of Jizan in southern Saudi Arabia with a drone, which he said hit the target precisely.
Saree stated that the second operation targeted the Aqefa garrison in Najran with a ballistic missile, which he said successfully hit its target. He added that the third operation targeted the border guard command and control building in Jizan with a ballistic missile, which he said resulted in casualties among Saudi soldiers and officers.
The announcement did not provide further details on the timing of the operations beyond Wednesday morning, nor did it specify the number of casualties. No independent confirmation of the reported strikes or their outcomes was immediately available.
The statement is the latest in a series of announcements by the Yemeni armed forces describing operations against targets in Saudi Arabia. Jizan and Najran are located in southern Saudi Arabia near the border with Yemen and have previously been cited in similar announcements.
