Yemen's Armed Forces announced on Wednesday that they carried out two military operations against Saudi Arabia, targeting an Aramco facility in the western port city of Yanbu and the Khamis Mushait airbase in the southwest. The operations were described as retaliation for what the Yemeni military said were more than 450 Saudi airstrikes this week.

Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, said in a statement that the first operation struck Aramco facilities in Yanbu with dozens of ballistic missiles and drones. He claimed the strikes were "precise and direct," resulting in "massive fires and widespread destruction." In the second operation, he said, Khamis Mushait airbase was targeted with several ballistic missiles.

Saree stated that the military would continue its operations deep inside Saudi territory, targeting Saudi troop buildups. He described the campaign as maintaining the equation of "a siege for a siege" and "an escalation for an escalation" until what he called the aggression ceases and the blockade on Yemen is lifted.

The attacks mark a continuation of cross-border hostilities between Yemeni forces and Saudi Arabia. The Yemeni military has repeatedly launched missile and drone strikes on Saudi targets in recent years, while Saudi Arabia has conducted airstrikes inside Yemen as part of a military campaign that began in 2015.

According to Mehr News, the Yemeni Armed Forces said the strikes were carried out on Wednesday and were a direct response to the recent Saudi airstrikes. The report added that Brigadier General Saree emphasized the operations would persist until the blockade is lifted and the aggression stops.
