SaveYemeni Armed Forces Say They Hit Two Aramco Sites in Saudi Arabia
The spokesman for the Yemeni armed forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, announced in a statement that the Yemeni forces carried out two operations using missiles and drones deep inside Saudi Arabia. The statement, reported by the Yemeni outlet al-Masirah, said the first operation targeted the Aramco company in Riyadh, the Saudi capital, while the second targeted Aramco in the Khurais region.
According to the statement read by Saree, the Saudi side has continued what it described as aggression against Yemen, carrying out more than 50 air and missile attacks over the past 12 hours on Sanaa and the provinces of Al-Jawf, Taiz, Amran, Hajjah and Saada. The statement said the number of such attacks since the beginning of the escalation of tension has reached 1,460 air and missile strikes.
Saree said both Yemeni operations "successfully achieved their goals," adding that the strikes were accurate and caused large fires in the areas they hit. The Yemeni armed forces statement said the forces will continue to target Saudi oil bases and facilities with Yemeni-made missiles and drones. It also claimed that the Yemeni armed forces have demonstrated the ability to accurately hit targets and to penetrate Western interception and countermeasure systems.
The statement further said the armed forces will not stop carrying out what it called more painful operations against the Saudi side, targeting its force gathering centers, and will maintain what it described as the equation of siege against siege and escalation against escalation until the aggression stops and the siege of Yemen is lifted.
There was no immediate independent confirmation of the claims from Saudi authorities, and details of casualties or damage were not provided in the Yemeni statement. The report by Mehr News carried the announcement as issued by the Yemeni armed forces through al-Masirah, without additional verification of the operational results.
