SaveYemeni Armed Forces announce six missile and drone strikes on Saudi targets
The Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Sunday that they carried out six military operations against targets inside Saudi Arabia, using a combination of ballistic missiles and drones, according to a statement by their spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree.
Saree said the strikes were conducted "in response to the brutal Saudi aggression targeting our country and our people, and in retaliation for the recent massacres that claimed the lives of dozens of martyrs and wounded, most of whom were women and children." The military said the operations hit critical infrastructure and military gatherings deep inside Saudi territory.
The first operation targeted the Ras Tanura oil refinery with a ballistic missile, which the military described as a "precise" strike. The second operation hit the Aramco facility in Abqaiq with a missile, according to Press TV. The third operation involved a salvo of missiles fired at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, while the fourth used a drone to strike King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, which the military said disrupted air traffic at the facility.
The fifth operation targeted the Rabigh oil refinery with a ballistic missile, which the military said achieved its objective. The sixth operation struck a headquarters used for Saudi troop buildups in the southern Najran region, resulting in casualties among Saudi soldiers, according to the statement.
The Yemeni Armed Forces reaffirmed their intention to continue what they called "qualitative military operations" deep inside Saudi Arabia. The statement emphasized a new equation of "a blockade for a blockade" and "an escalation for an escalation," saying operations would target Saudi troop concentrations and vital facilities until the aggression stops and the siege on Yemen is completely lifted.
The announcement follows recent Saudi strikes on Sanaa and other areas, which the Yemeni military cited as the backdrop for its response. The report by Mehr News, citing Press TV, added that the operations were presented by the Yemeni Armed Forces as a direct retaliation for the recent bombardments and the ongoing restrictions on Yemen.
