Yemen's armed forces spokesman Yahya Saree announced on Wednesday that a Saudi CH-4 reconnaissance drone was downed in the airspace of Al-Jawf province. He also stated that King Khalid airport in Riyadh was targeted with a number of drones.
Saree said two military operations were carried out against Abha International Airport and Khamis Mushait base using a number of ballistic missiles and drones. He added that gatherings of enemy elements were targeted in what he described as a unique operation against the Adh Dhagharir barracks in Jizan, the Akfa barracks in Asir, and another barracks in Jizan.
The announcement did not provide further details on the timing of the operations or the extent of damage caused. There was no immediate comment from Saudi authorities on the claims.
According to Mehr News, the statement was issued by the spokesman for Yemen's armed forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree.
