The World Health Organization (WHO) has recorded 906 suspected Ebola cases linked to an outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), including 223 deaths, according to WHO expert Anais Legand.
Speaking at a briefing in Geneva, Legand stated, "There are a total of 906 suspected cases, including 223 deaths that are currently being investigated. Investigations are ongoing, and this figure will change while testing capacities are being scaled up."
The outbreak, which has raised concerns due to the high fatality rate, is being closely monitored by health authorities. The WHO is working with local health officials to enhance testing and containment measures.
According to Mehr News, the situation remains fluid as more cases are expected to be identified with increased testing. The international community has been urged to support efforts to control the spread of the virus.
