Iran warns regional countries against aiding military action

Iranian officials have issued warnings to regional countries against supporting any military action against Iran, emphasizing that regional security is interconnected. The statements come amid intensified threats from American and Israeli officials, including talk of using heavy bombs and finishing off Iran. However, Iranian officials argue that military pressure has not achieved political objectives in the past.

Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, speaking at the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Baghdad, said, "Either we build security together, or we will endure insecurity together." He stressed that countries hosting American military bases must distinguish between defense cooperation and participation in actions that could ignite a widespread conflict. Mohsen Rezaei, a former member of the Expediency Discernment Council, warned Arab and Muslim countries about the consequences of accompanying the Zionist regime's project of expanding discord. Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf also warned against financial and infrastructural support for companies involved in military aggressions, including cooperation in data and artificial intelligence.

The article noted that American and Israeli officials face domestic political challenges, and their threats may be partly driven by electoral considerations. It argued that Iran has considerable defense, geographical, and human capacities, and any military action against it would have consequences beyond initial calculations. The experience of recent conflicts shows that the ability to inflict damage does not equate to imposing political will on Iran.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, in a recent message to Hezbollah forces, emphasized the continuation of jihad and resistance, stating, "No path remains ahead except jihad and resistance, and steadfastness on this path will grant the mujahideen on the path of truth the promised divine assistance." The article concluded that regional countries must choose between reducing tension and creating mechanisms for collective security, or exposing themselves to the consequences of a widespread crisis. According to Mehr News, Iran's message is that regional security must be for everyone, as no country can ignite insecurity in a neighbor's house without risking its flames reaching its own.
