Funeral Procession for Martyr Leader Ayatollah Khamenei Held in Mashhad

MASHHAD, Jul. 09 (MNA) – The funeral procession for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, was held in the city of Mashhad on Tuesday. The video footage shows the procession moving through streets and thoroughfares leading to the Imam Reza (a.s.) shrine, where the body was taken for burial.

Thousands of mourners participated in the ceremony, expressing their grief and paying their respects to the late leader. Ayatollah Khamenei, who served as the Supreme Leader of Iran for decades, passed away recently. His death has prompted an outpouring of emotion across the country.

The funeral procession was marked by scenes of mourning, with participants carrying portraits of the leader and chanting slogans. Security was tight as the procession made its way to the shrine, one of the holiest sites in Shia Islam.

According to Mehr News Agency, the video footage captures the solemn atmosphere and the large crowds that gathered to bid farewell to the leader. The report added that the funeral arrangements were conducted in accordance with Islamic traditions and with the participation of senior officials and religious figures.
