Iran's Pezeshkian says US and Israeli actions threaten global energy security

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that actions attributed to the United States and Israel are endangering the security of global energy, according to a report by Mehr News. The remarks were carried in coverage linked to the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GEFC), a grouping that brings together major natural gas producers.

The report, published under the headline that US and Israeli aggression endangers the security of global energy, placed Pezeshkian's comments in the context of regional tensions and their potential effect on energy markets. Mehr News listed the United States, US aggression, Masoud Pezeshkian and the Gas Exporting Countries Forum among the topics of the item.

At the time of publication, Mehr News stated that the item was being updated, meaning further details of the president's remarks and the setting in which they were made were not yet available. The report did not specify the date or venue of the statement, nor did it provide the full text of Pezeshkian's comments.

The Gas Exporting Countries Forum is an intergovernmental organization of gas-producing states, and its meetings typically address production, pricing and the security of supply. Iran is among its members. Statements made in that setting often touch on the stability of energy flows and the risks that producers say arise from sanctions, conflict or disruption to shipping routes.

No further specifics — including any figures, policy proposals or responses from US or Israeli officials — were included in the initial report. According to Mehr News, the item was being updated and additional details were expected.
