Iranian cleric says US warmongering has shifted regional power balance toward Iran

Hojjatoleslam Mohammad Hassan Aboutorabi-Fard, a senior cleric, delivered remarks during this week's Friday prayers held at the University of Tehran campus. He said that recent regional developments, along with actions by Iran, Yemen, and Hezbollah in countering what he described as aggression by the United States, the Zionist regime, and their allies, demonstrate a strategic failure facing Washington and Tel Aviv.

According to the cleric, US warmongering and military aggression have become a decisive factor in shifting the balance of power in favor of Iran, the Axis of Resistance, and the nations of the region. He stated, "Had it not been for US warmongering, we certainly would not stand at this level of power today." He also pointed to the strategic Strait of Hormuz, saying, "Had it not been for US warmongering, the Strait of Hormuz would not be in the powerful grip of the Armed Forces and IRGC forces."

Aboutorabi-Fard referred to Iran's conflicts with the United States and Israel over the past two years. He noted that the "sacred 12-day war" and the victories achieved by the armed forces during the "40-day war (Ramadan War)" and the "Hormuz War" showed that a cohesive national will is the greatest triumph for all Iranians. He added that this national asset must be safeguarded.

The remarks were made during Friday prayers, a regular platform for political and religious commentary in Iran. The cleric's statements align with official Iranian narratives regarding regional tensions and the role of the Axis of Resistance. The Strait of Hormuz, a vital oil passage, remains a point of strategic contention.

According to Mehr News, the senior cleric emphasized that the recent developments and measures taken by Iran and its allies clearly demonstrate the depth of the strategic failure facing Washington and Tel Aviv.
