US airstrikes hit Semnan airport in eastern Iran

US airstrikes struck operational areas of Semnan airport in the early hours of Thursday, according to reports. The sound of explosions was heard in parts of Semnan city, located approximately 200 kilometers east of Tehran. Rescue and emergency personnel were dispatched to the site to contain damage and assess the extent of destruction. Specialized teams are currently evaluating the impact on airport infrastructure.

Residential areas in the city and surrounding villages were not targeted, and no civilians were harmed in the attack. The strike on Semnan marks an expansion of the US air campaign beyond the southern coastal provinces, which have borne the brunt of attacks in recent days.
