The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Tuesday that it had destroyed a U.S. long-range radar site, a telecommunications centre, satellite receiving systems, and a missile defence radar in Kuwait. The IRGC also stated that it struck an MQ-9 drone hangar at the Ali al-Salem airbase.
According to the IRGC, the strikes were carried out by its aerospace forces during the second phase of the 24th wave of "Operation Nasr 2." The operation is described as part of a continuing punitive campaign designed to clear the path for larger-scale air and missile operations.
The IRGC claimed that the drone hangar at Ali al-Salem was hit, resulting in the destruction or comprehensive damage of a number of MQ-9 drones. No further details were provided regarding casualties or the extent of damage.
The report by Mehr News Agency (MNA) added that these actions are part of ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States in the region.
