IRGC Accuses US Military of Airstrike on Wedding in Iran, Citing Past Attacks

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a statement accusing the US military's CENTCOM of carrying out a direct airstrike on a wedding ceremony in Kouhestak, Sirik County, Hormozgan Province, Iran. According to the IRGC, the attack turned a celebration into mourning, with nearly 70 people struck. Four people were martyred, and seven of the wounded are reported to be in critical condition.

The statement claims that since last night, following reactions from people, media outlets, and free figures worldwide, including some American media, the US military and its officials have attempted to deny the attack was deliberate, repeating their claim that they do not target civilians. The IRGC asserts that attacking civilians to create fear and terror is part of the US military's doctrine.

To support this claim, the IRGC listed several past incidents of US attacks on weddings: July 1, 2002, in Kakarak village, Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan, where more than 100 people were martyred; September 18, 2003, in Fallujah, Iraq, where more than five were killed and wounded; May 19, 2004, in Bakr al-Dib, Anbar Province, Iraq, with 42 martyred; October 8, 2004, in Fallujah, Iraq, with 13 martyred including the groom; July 6, 2008, in Deh Bala, Nangarhar, Afghanistan, with 47 martyred including the bride; November 2008, in Wech Baghtu, Kandahar, Afghanistan, with 37 martyred including 23 children; June 2012, in Logar, Afghanistan, with 18 martyred including nine children; and September 28, 2015, in Wahijah, Taiz, Yemen, by the US-backed coalition, with 131 women and children martyred.

The IRGC also referenced the September 1, 2026, attack in Kuhestak, Sirik, Hormozgan Province, Iran, where 70 people were martyred and wounded. The statement criticized US leaders for resorting to lies and evading accountability, comparing this to previous incidents in Minab, Lamerd, and Qeshm.

The IRGC statement included a warning: "We have military power and, just last night, took revenge by killing the bloodthirsty terrorists of CENTCOM. If the American people do not stop this savage, child-killing military, they should fear the day when the time for the oppressed to take revenge arrives."

According to Mehr News Agency (MNA), the IRGC's statement was released in response to the reported airstrike, which has not been independently verified.
