Iran warns US bases will be targeted if tankers struck

The spokesman for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, General Zolfaqaei, said on Tuesday night that the American terrorist army has threatened to target three Iranian oil tankers. He warned that in the case of any attack on Iranian ships, the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will severely target American bases and interests in the region.

The statement comes amid heightened tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and around Kharg Island, a key Iranian oil export terminal. The United States has recently increased its military presence in the region, raising concerns about potential confrontations.

General Zolfaqaei's remarks were reported by Mehr News Agency, which noted that the threat was made in response to US statements about targeting Iranian vessels. The Iranian military has repeatedly emphasized its readiness to defend the country's maritime interests.
