Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir met with Iran's Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Major General Mohsen Rezaei, in Tehran on Monday evening. The meeting focused on bilateral relations and regional security issues.
During the meeting, General Rezaei voiced distrust of the United States and emphasized Iran's security control over the Strait of Hormuz. He stressed that Washington must change its behavior and take practical steps to implement the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which was signed between the two countries to enhance cooperation.
General Munir, for his part, highlighted the brotherly ties between Pakistan and Iran and reiterated Islamabad's commitment to strengthening security along their shared border. The two officials discussed ways to enhance mutual cooperation in security and border management.
The meeting comes amid ongoing efforts by both countries to improve relations and address common security challenges. According to Mehr News Agency, the discussions underscored the importance of bilateral coordination in maintaining regional stability.
