Iran VP: Ties with Muslim nations reshaped in post-war era

Iran's Vice President for Parliamentary Affairs, Mohammadreza Aref, stated that relations with Muslim nations have taken a new shape in the post-war era. He made the remarks during a meeting with Malaysia's Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, who was in Tehran to attend the farewell ceremony of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

Aref emphasized that resolving issues between regional countries, including national interests and development, should be achieved through cooperation with Islamic nations. He affirmed that the new climate in Iran and the region has laid the groundwork for removing obstacles hindering the development of relations among Muslim countries.

The vice president further said, "Our confrontation with the United States and the Zionist entity is on behalf of the Palestinian people, to confront American hegemony and injustice in the region." He added that "the regional countries that sought American help for their security have realized that they should not throw themselves into Washington's arms."

The meeting also covered agricultural cooperation between Iran and Malaysia. According to Mehr News Agency, the two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral ties in the agricultural sector. The Malaysian minister's visit underscores the growing engagement between Tehran and Kuala Lumpur.

Aref's comments come amid shifting regional dynamics, with Iran seeking to strengthen ties with Muslim nations following the end of major conflicts in the region. The vice president's statements reflect Iran's broader foreign policy approach of prioritizing relations with Islamic countries and opposing foreign interference.
