IRGC spokesman says downed drones and vessels 'sank' in Strait of Hormuz

The spokesman of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi, said in a post on his X account late on Sunday that drones and vessels had "sank" in the Strait of Hormuz after being struck by Iranian Armed Forces. The post included an image of the drones and vessels that he said had been targeted in the waterway.

General Mohebbi described the post as a response to remarks by the commander of US Central Command (CENTCOM), which he referred to as "delusions." The IRGC spokesman wrote, "They sank!" alongside the image, according to the report.

The statement follows comments he made earlier on Saturday, in which he said that a renewed war with the United States would have no geographical limits. He said a broad operational scope had been defined to strike the enemy and to achieve what he described as full deterrence.

General Mohebbi said maximum deterrence means ensuring that no country can take a political stance against Iran, and that no state could entertain ambitions of seizing Iranian land and territory. The remarks were carried in the report on the IRGC spokesman's statements.
