Ebrahim Rezaei, a member of the Iranian Parliament's National Security Commission, said on the sidelines of a memorial ceremony for the sister of Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi that Tehran will not retreat from its seven conditions for ending the war. "Our task with the Americans is clear. The Americans must either surrender to our diplomats or surrender to Iran's missiles. We have no other path or proposal for them," Rezaei said, according to Mehr News Agency (MNA).
Rezaei stated that the party that must back down in the current standoff is not the Islamic Republic of Iran. "As the country's officials have repeatedly declared, we will not back down from our conditions, and our resistance will continue," he said. He added that Iranian officials have consistently maintained this position.
The lawmaker also referred to what he described as America's internal problems and the pressures bearing down on it. "We also have news of America's internal problems and the pressures bearing down on them. The Islamic Republic of Iran remains committed to its principles and conditions and will by no means back down from them," Rezaei said.
The remarks were made on the sidelines of a memorial ceremony held for the sister of Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. The event provided an occasion for officials and lawmakers to speak with the press. Rezaei's comments reflect the ongoing public stance of Iranian officials regarding the conditions Tehran has set for ending the war with the United States.
According to Mehr News Agency, Rezaei's statements underscore Iran's insistence that it will not compromise on its stated conditions, and that the United States must either engage diplomatically on Iran's terms or face military consequences. The report did not specify the exact seven conditions or provide further details on the diplomatic track.
