Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Farzaneh Sadegh, made a two-day visit to Turkmenistan to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in rail and road transport. During the visit, Sadegh highlighted that transport officials from both countries have been actively working to implement previously signed agreements. She noted that progress has been made in rail transport cooperation, particularly at border terminals, and that a new road project would help facilitate the movement of Iranian truck drivers. A competent Iranian company will undertake the construction work on Turkmen territory, she added.
Sadegh also said that the two sides discussed energy cooperation and regional transport initiatives involving Iran, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, and Russia. She expressed hope that continued talks would lead to stronger economic and transit ties among the countries involved. The discussions are part of ongoing efforts to enhance connectivity and trade routes in the region.
According to Mehr News, the visit underscores the two nations' commitment to deepening their transport and economic partnership.
