Armenian journalist praises Iran's spirit of resistance during US-Israeli war

In an interview with Mehr News, prominent Armenian journalist Tsovinar Barkhudaryan, a broadcaster on Armenia's Channel 5 and from Artsakh, discussed the US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran and its reception in Armenia. She stated that the Armenian people were deeply concerned about Iran during the war and worried about the Iranian people's well-being. With the path to negotiations and cessation of conflicts opening, Armenians feel satisfied and hope the US will not engage in a wider war against Iran. Barkhudaryan noted that Armenians feel secure having a powerful neighbor like Iran and follow developments in Iran with sensitivity.

Regarding the spread of war to the Caucasus region, Barkhudaryan said there were serious concerns that the conflict could extend to the South Caucasus. The economic consequences of the war affected not only Iran but also regional countries, along with security and military concerns.

On media coverage, Barkhudaryan explained that Armenia's Channel 5 continuously covered news related to Iran and the war, with almost no day passing without the topic being raised in news segments and analytical programs. The war was covered under the title "The War Imposed by the US and Israel Against Iran," and numerous expert programs examined its various aspects. She highlighted difficulties in accessing direct narratives from inside Iran, especially during internet restrictions, and called for more cooperation between Iranian and Armenian media to improve coverage. She criticized the dominance of Western media narratives and urged Iranian media to work harder to convey their true narrative to global audiences.

Barkhudaryan noted that the Armenian people, due to their historical experiences, do not have a positive view of war and military aggression. Regarding the 14-point memorandum of understanding with the US, she said her media experience shows that written agreements do not necessarily guarantee implementation of commitments.

She emphasized that what caught her attention most during her trip to Iran was the spirit of resistance of the Iranian people. She heard many Iranians say they are willing to pay any price for their country, and she considers this spirit Iran's most important strength. During her visit to southern Iran and the Strait of Hormuz, she observed that Iran has ample capacities and capabilities. She concluded that Iran is a country with considerable potential and capabilities, and she returned to Armenia with very positive feelings, having fallen in love with Iran. She expressed hope that Iranians will never again experience the pain of war and that lasting peace will prevail. The interview was conducted by Morteza Ahmadi, according to Mehr News.
