IRGC claims killing US troops in attack on Jordan base

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that its forces killed several US troops in a missile and drone attack on a base in Rukban, near the Jordan-Syria border. The strikes were part of the 24th wave of "Operation Nasr 2," according to an IRGC statement.

The IRGC described the targeted compound as being used by the "terrorist and child-killing American army." The statement criticized the US war secretary for portraying the dead soldiers as heroes and claimed the actual death toll was "far below the real figure." It added, "Let it be known that in the lexicon of no nation are cowardly soldiers who use advanced weapons to kill innocent children called heroes. The freedom-seekers of the world will soon bring these war criminals to justice."

Rukban, a remote site near the Syria-Jordan border, has been repeatedly targeted by Iranian missile and drone strikes in recent operations against US positions across the region. The attack marks an escalation in tensions between Iran and the United States.

According to Mehr News Agency, the IRGC's statement did not provide specific numbers of casualties, but claimed significant losses for US forces. The report by Mehr News Agency added that the operation was part of ongoing Iranian military actions against US forces in the region.
