Iranian senior advisor accuses Trump of abandoning diplomacy

Mohsen Rezaei, a senior advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has denounced US President Donald Trump for abandoning diplomacy. In a post on his X account on Saturday, Rezaei wrote: "As predicted, the US President is betraying diplomacy for the third time. By continuing the naval blockade and making excessive demands in negotiations, he has once again proven that he is not inclined toward negotiation and is pursuing other objectives."

Earlier on Friday, Rezaei had emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran stands as a formidable obstacle to US and Israeli objectives, particularly their attempts to redraw the map of West Asia. The remarks come amid heightened tensions between Iran and the United States, with the Trump administration maintaining a policy of maximum pressure on Iran.

According to Mehr News Agency, Rezaei's statements reflect the Iranian leadership's view that the US is not genuinely interested in diplomatic solutions. The senior advisor's comments also highlight Iran's stance against what it perceives as US-Israeli aggression in the region.
