Pakistan, Turkey and Saudi security officials arrive in Tehran for regional security talks

Security officials from Pakistan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia arrived in Tehran on Wednesday for a joint four-party meeting with senior Iranian officials, according to Mehr News Agency. The visitors include Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir, Turkey's head of the National Intelligence Organization Ibrahim Kalin, and Saudi Defence Minister Khalid bin Salman Al Saud.

The delegation is scheduled to hold talks with Major General Mohsein Rezaei, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, and with President Masoud Pezeshkian. The meetings are taking place amid heightened regional tensions that Iranian officials attribute to what they describe as US and Israeli aggression against Iran.

Iranian officials said the four-party meeting, held later the same day in Tehran, is aimed at discussing regional security without reliance on foreign powers. The talks bring together senior security and defence figures from three countries in a single format hosted by Iran.

No further details on the agenda, the duration of the meetings or any joint statement were provided in the report. It was not immediately clear whether the discussions would produce a formal outcome or a follow-up mechanism among the participating states.

According to Mehr News Agency, the gathering is being held as regional tensions have escalated, and the participants are expected to focus on security coordination among the countries involved.
