SCO Member States Condemn US Aggression Against Iran

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi announced that member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) have unanimously condemned US aggression against Iran. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, on Friday, Araghchi said his discussions with counterparts revealed broad consensus on condemning US actions.

Araghchi noted that Iran shares common positions with all SCO member states on major international issues. He stated that all SCO countries clearly condemned US aggression against Iran, Washington's unilateral and unlawful actions, violations of international law, and illegal use of force. The SCO member states are also seeking ways to confront such US actions and prevent them from becoming an accepted practice in international relations.

Referring to his speech at the ministerial meeting, Araghchi warned that if the international community fails to condemn and respond to such acts, sooner or later all countries will face similar threats. He highlighted a shared sense of concern among SCO members over the implications of unilateral military actions, adding that his meetings confirmed a significant degree of convergence and common understanding on the issue.

Araghchi also mentioned that his discussions with fellow foreign ministers covered bilateral relations and regional developments, with US attacks against Iran becoming one of the main topics of discussion. According to Mehr News Agency, the SCO meeting provided a platform for member states to express their opposition to US aggression and coordinate responses.
