TEHRAN, Aug. 01 (MNA) – As Arbaeen pilgrims walk from Najaf to the holy city of Karbala, the red flag of revenge for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei is seen in the hands of a number of the pilgrims. The red flag, symbolizing the call for retribution, has been raised by some mourners during the annual pilgrimage, which marks the 40th day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (a.s.). The presence of the flag reflects the sentiments of many Shia Muslims who demand justice for the late Leader, who was martyred in a recent incident. The pilgrimage, one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, draws millions of participants each year. According to Mehr News Agency, the red flags were observed along the route, carried by pilgrims expressing their grief and resolve. The report added that the flags serve as a reminder of the ongoing struggle against oppression and injustice, a theme central to the commemoration of Arbaeen.
