Qatar has condemned the Israeli military incursions in Syria, including artillery shelling against several areas in Quneitra and Deraa governorates. The Qatari Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Monday, expressing strong disapproval of the attacks, which it said only serve to "exacerbate tensions in the region" and undermine efforts towards stability.
The ministry called on the international community to compel Israel to comply with international law. It emphasized that such actions violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria and pose a threat to regional peace.
On Sunday, Israeli forces attacked the village of Abdeen in the western countryside of Deraa and its surroundings with artillery fire and helicopter gunships, forcing residents to flee their homes. The incursions are part of a broader pattern of Israeli military activity in southern Syria, which has drawn condemnation from various Arab and international actors.
According to Mehr News Agency, the Qatari statement reiterated the need for a unified international stance to stop Israeli violations and support efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the region.
