SaveQaani: Resistance stronger than ever after Hamas leadership election
In a message, Brigadier General Esmail Qaani, commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force, stated that the election of Khalil al-Hayya as the new head of Hamas's political bureau demonstrates the movement's unwavering commitment to the path of Islamic resistance. Qaani described al-Hayya as "a personality symbolic of resistance and martyrdom." He asserted that Israel "must accept that despite all the crimes it has committed, it has not only failed to stop the Resistance, but the Islamic resistance today, stronger than ever, will continue its honourable path."
Al-Hayya, a senior Hamas official who previously served as deputy to former chief Yahya Sinwar, was elected to the movement's top political post following the martyrdom of previous leaders during the ongoing conflict with Israel. The election signals continuity in Hamas's leadership and strategy amid the war.
Qaani's remarks come as part of broader Iranian support for Palestinian resistance groups. Iran has long been a key backer of Hamas, providing financial, military, and political support. The IRGC Quds Force, which Qaani leads, is responsible for Iran's extraterritorial operations and has been instrumental in supporting allied groups across the region.
According to Mehr News Agency, Qaani's message underscores the resilience of the resistance axis despite Israeli military operations that have killed several senior Hamas figures. The statement reaffirms Iran's stance that the resistance movement remains intact and capable of continuing its struggle.
