Iranian President Pezeshkian returns to Tehran after attending UN General Assembly

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian departed New York for Tehran after attending the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), according to Mehr News Agency (MNA). Pezeshkian had left Tehran for New York on Tuesday morning to participate in the assembly, which brings together world leaders annually.

During his visit, the Iranian president held separate meetings with the leaders of Switzerland, Iraq, Bangladesh, Norway, Armenia, the Netherlands, Lebanon and Pakistan. He also met with the President of the European Council and the UN Secretary-General.

On September 22, Pezeshkian was seen off at the airport by First Vice President Mohammad-Reza Aref, Deputy for International Relations at the Office of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Hojjatoleslam Mohsen Qomi, and a number of his cabinet members.

The 81st UNGA session provided a platform for bilateral discussions on regional and international issues. The meetings with counterparts from Europe, Asia and the Middle East reflect ongoing diplomatic engagements by Iran.

According to Mehr News Agency, the visit concluded with Pezeshkian's return to Tehran, marking the end of his participation in the annual gathering of world leaders.
