Iran President Pezeshkian Stresses Multilateralism After BRICS Summit in India

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian highlighted the outcomes of his recent visit to India and participation in the 18th BRICS Summit during a meeting with the heads of the other two branches of government on Sunday. The expert-level meeting was hosted by President Pezeshkian and attended by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Judiciary Chief Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei.

Pezeshkian presented a comprehensive report on his trip to India and the results of the BRICS Summit. He outlined the objectives and achievements of the visit, including efforts to strengthen multilateralism, develop economic and trade cooperation, and confront unilateralism. He emphasized that strengthening multilateralism and confronting unilateralism should be taken into serious consideration.

The three heads of government also stressed the need for coordination and synergy among the branches of government. They agreed that ensuring the supply of essential goods, improving people's livelihoods, supporting production, removing barriers to production, and facilitating productive investment should be among the priorities of the country's general policies.

The meeting underscored Iran's focus on international cooperation and economic development amid ongoing global challenges. The officials did not provide further details on specific agreements or initiatives discussed during the BRICS Summit. According to Mehr News, the meeting aimed to align domestic policies with the outcomes of the international engagement.
