Iranian police have dismantled a four-member team of the PJAK terrorist group in the western city of Baneh, according to Brigadier General Saeed Montazer al-Mahdi, the police spokesman.

In a statement, Montazer al-Mahdi said that at 8:45 PM on June 26, border guards of the Border Regiment, in coordination with intelligence ministry personnel in Baneh, detected the infiltration of a key element of the PJAK group into the country. The forces immediately launched an operation to arrest and confront the terrorist team.

During the operation, officers identified a Samand car carrying members of the terrorist team. An armed clash ensued, resulting in the deaths of all four PJAK members. The police spokesman confirmed that no casualties were reported among the Iranian forces.

Following the clash, a search of the vehicle and the scene led to the discovery of a significant cache of weapons and ammunition, including several pistols, magazines, live ammunition, and hand grenades.

The operation highlights ongoing efforts by Iranian security forces to counter cross-border terrorist activities. According to the report published on the police website, the successful mission was the result of close monitoring of border movements and intelligence cooperation.
