Iran President Pezeshkian says peace achieved through mutual respect

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Thursday that peace will be achieved through mutual respect, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United States.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) early Thursday, Pezeshkian described the MoU as "a historical document and a message from a powerful Iran: peace will be achieved in the shadow of mutual respect." He added, "The Islamic Republic of Iran is always committed to global peace by preserving dignity and independence, progress and regional cooperation."

The signing of the MoU marks a significant step in US-Iran relations, which have been tense in recent years. The agreement comes amid ongoing diplomatic efforts to address various issues between the two countries.

According to Mehr News, the MoU was signed in the early hours of Thursday. Further details of the agreement were not immediately disclosed. The report by Mehr News added that President Pezeshkian emphasized Iran's commitment to peace while maintaining its national dignity and independence.
