Pakistan urges US and Iran to resume technical-level talks

Pakistan has reiterated its call for the United States and Iran to resume technical-level talks, urging all parties to exercise maximum restraint and avoid actions that could further undermine peace and stability. The appeal was made by Foreign Ministry spokesman Tahir Andrabi during a press briefing in Islamabad, as reported by Anadolu Agency.

Andrabi stated that Pakistan firmly believes there is no alternative to sustained engagement, dialogue, and diplomacy in pursuit of lasting peace, stability, and progress. He emphasized that all conflicts and disputes are ultimately resolved through dialogue at the negotiating table. The spokesman added that Pakistan remains engaged with key interlocutors to lower tensions.

The statement comes amid continued US acts of aggression and Iranian retaliatory attacks, with tensions particularly high over the Strait of Hormuz. Pakistan has been a main mediator since the US-Israeli aggression began on February 28.

Last month, the US and Iranian presidents signed the Islamabad Memorandum, which gave the two sides 60 days to hold talks towards a final agreement to end the war. Andrabi described the memorandum as an enduring framework for promoting peace, mutual respect, and shared prosperity.

According to the report by Mehr News Agency, Pakistan's call for dialogue underscores its role as a mediator in the conflict.
