Pakistan, Iran discuss expanding judicial cooperation

Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi met with Iran’s Ambassador to Islamabad Reza Amiri-Moghaddam on Thursday to discuss broadening judicial relations between the two countries. Both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing judicial and institutional cooperation through sharing experiences and implementing judicial reforms.

Ambassador Amiri-Moghaddam praised the reform initiatives by the Pakistani judiciary and expressed appreciation for efforts to expedite the cases of Iranian nationals held in various prisons throughout Pakistan.

Chief Justice Afridi referred to the long-standing and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Iran, stating that lasting friendship and mutual respect are the foundations of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the administration of justice. He also conveyed the affection that the Pakistani people have for Iran and expressed his wishes for peace, stability, and progress for the Iranian people.

According to Mehr News, the meeting highlighted the commitment of both nations to strengthen ties in the judicial sector.
