Russian envoy Ulyanov says non-peaceful options on Iran will not work

Russian diplomat Mikhail Ulyanov said in a post on X that non-peaceful options regarding Iran will not work and that Washington should focus on peaceful solutions. "The US has been waiting for the collapse of the Iranian economy since 1980. It would be better for the US, the Persian Gulf and the whole world if Washington finally decides to focus on peaceful solutions. Other options don't work," Ulyanov wrote.

The statement comes amid ongoing tensions over Iran's nuclear program and regional security. Ulyanov, a senior Russian official who has been involved in international negotiations concerning Iran, has previously advocated for diplomatic channels to resolve disputes.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that Iran will remain steadfast against any aggression, even if the situation escalates to an apocalyptic war. "At the same time, we are ready for real diplomacy," Araghchi stressed. His remarks underscored Tehran's position that it will not yield to pressure while keeping the door open to genuine negotiations.

The exchange of statements reflects the continuing diplomatic standoff between Iran and the United States, with Russia positioning itself as a proponent of dialogue. Ulyanov's comments also highlight Moscow's view that economic pressure and military threats have not achieved their intended results over decades.
