Iran Deputy FM: No Attack Will Go Unanswered

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi, has emphasized the need for a pre-approved and decisive response to any threat against the Leader of the Islamic Revolution or senior state and military officials. In a statement on social media, Gharibabadi stressed the importance of continuing the strategy of a "crushing response" to any military aggression against the country.

He proposed that either the parliament or the Supreme National Security Council should approve a measure that "pre-defines the system's decisive and regret-inducing response in the event of any malicious intent against the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, or military and civilian officials." Gharibabadi added, "No action against Iran should remain without a response."

The remarks come amid heightened tensions following days of intense military exchanges between Iran and the United States. These include U.S. strikes on Iran's southern coast and Iranian ballistic missile attacks on American bases in regional countries. The deputy foreign minister's call for a pre-defined response mechanism underscores Iran's stance on deterrence and its commitment to retaliate against any perceived aggression.

According to Mehr News Agency, Gharibabadi's statement reflects Iran's ongoing policy of maintaining a strong defensive posture and ensuring that any hostile action is met with a proportional and decisive response. The proposal for parliamentary or Supreme National Security Council approval aims to institutionalize the response strategy, making it a formal part of Iran's national security framework.
