Massive crowds demand vengeance at Ayatollah Khamenei's farewell

TEHRAN, Jul. 05 (MNA) – Massive crowds gathered at Tehran's Grand Mosalla on Friday to bid farewell to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, who was assassinated earlier this week. The mourners, many carrying banners and chanting slogans, demanded vengeance against those responsible for the assassination.

The atmosphere was charged with emotion as thousands of people from all walks of life filled the prayer hall and surrounding areas. They waved flags and placards reading "Death to the enemies of Islam" and "Revenge is our demand." The chants echoed through the venue, reflecting the public's anger and grief.

Ayatollah Khamenei, who had led Iran since 1989, was killed in a targeted attack on Tuesday. The incident has sparked widespread condemnation and calls for justice. Iranian officials have vowed to track down and punish the perpetrators.

The funeral procession is scheduled to continue through the streets of Tehran before the body is transferred to Mashhad for burial. Security has been heightened across the country amid fears of further unrest.

According to Mehr News Agency, the turnout at the Grand Mosalla was one of the largest in recent memory, underscoring the deep respect and loyalty many Iranians held for the late leader. The report added that similar gatherings are expected in other cities in the coming days.
