IRGC says it killed many US troops in strike on Jordan base

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that its Aerospace Force carried out a strike on Camp Tibtin, a U.S. Marines base located on Jordan's Aqaba coast, as part of the second wave of an operation to punish the aggressor. According to an IRGC statement, a large number of American troops were killed, and several key installations and attack helicopters were destroyed in the attack.

The strike was in response to a U.S. attack on a residential home in Sirik, in Iran's southern Hormozgan province, where a wedding ceremony was targeted. Nearly 50 people were martyred or wounded, including a child. The IRGC statement said the attack "revived the savagery" of the Minab school and Lamerd sports hall attacks, referring to previous incidents.

The IRGC described the U.S. military as defeated and unable to confront Iranian forces directly, and said that retaliatory operations were continuing. The statement emphasized that the operation was aimed at punishing the aggressor and defending Iranian interests.

According to Mehr News Agency (MNA), the IRGC's Aerospace Force conducted the strike, and the details were provided in an official statement. The report did not specify the exact number of casualties or the extent of damage, but it highlighted the IRGC's assertion of a significant impact on U.S. forces.

The incident marks an escalation in tensions between Iran and the United States, with Iran vowing to continue its retaliatory operations. The U.S. has not yet officially commented on the reported strike. The situation remains fluid, and further developments are expected.
