Israeli forces raid 400 locations in West Bank, displacing 2,200 Palestinians

Israeli forces have expelled approximately 2,000 Palestinians from their homes in Hebron in the occupied West Bank, according to an announcement by Israeli Minister of War Israel Katz. The official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that Israeli troops took over homes in the Khallat Manna and Dahiyat al-Zaytoun areas of southern Hebron on Saturday, the second day of a military operation in the southern occupied West Bank, forcing residents to leave and using the properties as barracks. Sources told Wafa that residents in other neighborhoods were also forced from their homes, which were then used as observation posts.

The evictions follow the forced displacement of hundreds of families since Friday, amid extensive raids, road closures, and tight restrictions on movement. In total, Israeli forces have raided 400 locations across the West Bank, contributing to the displacement of 2,200 Palestinians, according to the report.

Near Bethlehem, Israeli forces blocked dirt roads leading to the town of Tuqu and fired tear gas and stun grenades toward Palestinian vehicles traveling along rough alternative routes, Wafa reported, citing Palestinian security sources.

The operation has drawn concern over the humanitarian impact on Palestinian civilians. The report by Mehr News, citing Wafa and Palestinian security sources, added that the raids and displacement are part of a broader military campaign in the West Bank.
