Israeli strike kills family of five in Gaza City

An Israeli airstrike on Saturday killed a family of five in northwest Gaza City, according to the territory’s civil defence agency. The victims were three children and their parents, who were inside a residential apartment when it was hit. Mahmoud Basal, spokesman for the agency, told AFP that the only surviving member of the family was one child who was not inside the house at the time of the strike. Gaza’s al-Shifa Hospital confirmed it had received the five bodies. The incident occurred amid ongoing hostilities between Israel and Hamas. According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least 1,150 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces since the US-brokered ceasefire between the Zionist regime and Hamas took effect last October. The report by Mehr News Agency added that the strike was part of continued Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip.
