Israeli forces closed all entry points to Ramallah in the occupied West Bank and set up checkpoints on alternative routes used by residents, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported.
Local sources told Wafa that Israeli troops closed the Ein Siniya and Atara checkpoints, as well as the Rawabi gate north of Ramallah, along with the Nabi Saleh and Aboud gates to the northwest. A checkpoint was also set up near the Ministry of Education district on the al-Bireh-Jalazone road, while another was erected on the road connecting the village of Yabroud with the town of Silwad, northeast of Ramallah.
The closures affect the main approaches to Ramallah and several surrounding routes, according to the report. Wafa did not specify the duration of the closures or state a reason given by Israeli authorities for the measure.
According to Mehr News, citing the Palestinian news agency Wafa, the closures came amid the continuing Israeli presence and movement restrictions in the West Bank.
