Israel's military carried out an air strike on the town of Zibqin in southern Lebanon's Tyre district, Lebanon's state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported. According to the agency, Israeli forces also fired artillery at the municipalities of al-Mansouri and Majdal Zoun and the adjacent valleys.
The NNA report said that some houses in al-Mansouri were blown up during the operations. The same two towns had been shelled on Thursday as well, during what the agency described as a broader Israeli advance towards border towns. That earlier shelling wounded at least two people, according to the report.
The accounts could not be independently verified. The report did not specify the number of casualties from the latest strikes on Zibqin, al-Mansouri or Majdal Zoun, nor did it give details on the extent of the damage beyond the demolition of homes in al-Mansouri.
Tyre district lies in southern Lebanon, an area that has seen repeated exchanges of fire along the border in recent months. The NNA, Lebanon's official state news agency, regularly reports on strikes and shelling in the south.
According to Mehr News, citing the National News Agency, the strikes on Zibqin and the artillery fire on al-Mansouri and Majdal Zoun mark the latest in a series of incidents in the Tyre area, with the same towns having come under shelling only days earlier.
