Report says Israel demolished over 11,000 homes and structures in West Bank in three years

The Palestine Information Center (Moata) said in a report published on Sunday that Israeli demolitions in the occupied West Bank over the past three years destroyed 2,143 homes and 9,477 other structures and facilities, totaling more than 11,000 demolished buildings. The report linked the demolitions to ongoing Israeli military operations that it said have caused extensive devastation across the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly in refugee settlements in the northern West Bank.

According to a report released by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights on September 4, Israeli military forces forcibly relocated inhabitants from the Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nur Shams refugee camps during January and February 2025, with restrictions on their return still in effect. The UN report noted that hundreds of residential structures were demolished and that transportation networks and essential service infrastructure suffered substantial damage, according to Press TV.

The UN report emphasized that the large-scale and systematic displacement of more than 33,000 Palestinians from these refugee camps “raises serious concerns of the crime against humanity of forcible transfer.” It also highlighted that the effects of the demolitions extend beyond the loss of buildings, preventing residents from returning to their communities and destabilizing their future prospects.
