The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy announced on Monday that it had carried out strikes against US support sites in Kuwait and Bahrain. The strikes were described as the 19th wave of "Operation Nasr 2" and were conducted in retaliation for overnight US attacks on Iran, according to the IRGC's 28th statement.
The targeted sites included the fuel support dock at al-Ahmadi port, the enemy aircraft assembly area at Sheikh Isa, the Batelco intelligence data centre in Bahrain, and a US signals and communications centre in Kuwait. The IRGC statement said that the "zealous sea-warriors of the IRGC Navy have turned the battlefield into a display of the criminal enemy's weakness."
The IRGC Navy also asserted that it maintained "powerful control" over the Strait of Hormuz even as it conducted the strikes. The statement did not provide details on the extent of damage or casualties.
The operation marks a significant escalation in the ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States, with the IRGC directly targeting US allied infrastructure in the region. According to Mehr News Agency, the strikes were part of a broader Iranian response to US military actions.
