The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that it has struck US arms depots and barracks in Bahrain, marking the first phase of the second wave of "Operation Nasr 2." The operation was launched in retaliation for a US air attack on coastal stations and military centers in southern Iran, which itself followed an American failure in the Strait of Hormuz the previous night, according to the IRGC.
Missiles and drones were used to hit targets at the Juffair base, which hosts the US Fifth Fleet. The IRGC stated that the operation is continuing. This exchange is the latest in a series of tit-for-tat strikes across the region. Iran has been targeting US bases in Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, and Qatar in recent days, while US forces have repeatedly hit Iranian coastal positions.
According to Mehr News, the IRGC's statement emphasized that the strikes were a direct response to US aggression and that further operations may follow. The situation remains tense as both sides continue to engage in military actions.
