IRGC Spokesman Says Iran Has Acquired More Advanced Weapons After 40-Day War

Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi, the spokesman for Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), said in an exclusive interview with an English-language newspaper based in Tehran on Wednesday that Iran's armed forces are fully prepared to respond to any potential aggression, having been equipped with more advanced weapons following a 40-day war.

General Mohebbi did not rule out the possibility of a new war against Iran. He stated that although initiating such a conflict would be irrational for the United States, the possibility remains because, in his view, the Trump administration needs an achievement to show before the midterm elections. He emphasized that Iran is prepared to respond to any renewed aggression with greater force than before, and that the consequences of such an action for the United States would be "more painful."

The IRGC spokesman also criticized media coverage of US foreign wars. He expressed his belief that the American public is not informed of the reality of these conflicts and that mainstream media conceal the truth about what he termed "ruthless acts of aggression."

Additionally, General Mohebbi dismissed statements by US officials regarding the existence of gaps and a lack of cooperation among Iranian officials as "completely false." He stated that these claims are made to justify Washington's failures in the war waged against Iran.

According to Mehr News, the interview underscores Iran's stance on its military readiness and its rejection of US claims about internal divisions.
