The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that it destroyed a US electronic warfare unit and its barracks at the al-Adiri base in Kuwait during the 26th wave of "Operation Nasr 2." The attack also struck and damaged the base's air traffic control tower, according to the IRGC's 46th statement of the campaign.
The IRGC stated that the United States revealed its "Yazidi nature" earlier that day by attacking the route of Arbaeen pilgrims heading to Karbala. The IRGC accused Washington of trying to buy time through talk of negotiations after being "defeated on the battlefield." The statement emphasized, "The enemy must pay for its oath-breaking, and this time we will not allow America to use deceptive ceasefires to replace its oil and ammunition stocks and then resume attacks."
The IRGC noted that US forces had exhausted the cruise missile stocks of their naval vessels in the Indian Ocean and had resorted to using B-1 bombers flying from RAF Fairford in Britain the previous day. The IRGC reiterated that any base used for aggression against Iranian soil is a legitimate target, as stated by Foreign Ministry officials.
The IRGC also warned "the British monarchy" against further weighing down its record, citing a history of mass killings, imposing authoritarian regimes, and "organising the occupation of Palestine and the creation of the catastrophe of [the formation of the regime of] Israel."
According to Mehr News Agency (MNA), the IRGC's statement did not provide independent verification of the attack or details on casualties. The report by MNA added that the IRGC's claims could not be independently confirmed.
