Iran's nuclear chief says country's nuclear capabilities match developed nations

Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), said on Tuesday that Iran's nuclear science and technology capabilities are on par with those of developed and advanced nations. Speaking at a ceremony marking National Standard Day in Tehran, Eslami emphasized that the country's intellectual resources, technological expertise, and the resourcefulness of its younger generation have enabled it to achieve high levels of scientific and technological advancement.

"We are on a par with the developed and advanced countries in nuclear science and technology, and that is a reality. Opposition and refusal to accept Iran's possession of nuclear technology does not change the reality of the country's scientific capabilities," Eslami said. He added, "We have done nothing wrong," and asserted that Iran's adversaries would have no grounds to target the country if they ceased attempts to tarnish its nuclear energy sector.

Eslami also addressed Iran's industrial capabilities, noting that nuclear technology has become integrated into major industrial sectors, including refineries, petrochemical plants, and steel production. He pointed out that industrial facilities across the country were targeted during what he described as unprovoked American-Israeli aggression, aimed at damaging components involved in maintaining the stability of industrial processes.

The AEOI chief's remarks come amid ongoing international scrutiny of Iran's nuclear program. Iran has consistently maintained that its nuclear activities are peaceful, while some Western countries have expressed concerns about the nature of the program. Eslami's statements underscore Iran's position that its scientific achievements are a reality that opposition cannot alter.

According to Mehr News, Eslami made these comments during the National Standard Day event, highlighting Iran's determination to continue its nuclear technological development despite external pressures.
