Iran's interior minister meets SCO chief in Bishkek

Iran's Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni met with the Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, on June 4. The meeting took place on the sidelines of a ministerial meeting of SCO member states.

During the talks, the two sides exchanged views on bilateral ties and the latest regional developments following the US and Israeli aggression against Iran on February 28. The SCO chief noted that the organization had issued four statements in support of Iran during the aggression, adding, "We wish for peace to be established as soon as possible."

Momeni arrived in Bishkek earlier to attend the SCO ministerial meeting. The discussions highlighted the importance of multilateral cooperation in addressing regional challenges. According to Mehr News, the meeting underscored the SCO's commitment to supporting Iran amid external pressures.
